1 Attaching the hack
Whenever you release your hack it must come in an archive, that means it must be either a .zip or .rar file. If you have never heard of these two before get WinRAR, a free to use archiving program (infinite trial time).
You must never use outside links - that means no links to RapidShare, Megaupload, Mediafire etc. Always attach the file:
- Press the "Manage Attachments" button at the bottom of the post page:
- Select the attachment and upload it:
- Close the attachment window and add everything else
2 Screenshot
Every release must be accompanied by at least one screenshot. Now most people already know what the game looks like so your screenshot shouldn't just be a picture of a tree but rather a screenshot of the hack, usually showing its functions. To make one follow these simple steps:
- When you want to save the picture on your screen press the following button on your keyboard (Print Screen):
- Open Paint (Windows key + R; type in mspaint)
- Resize the canvas the something smaller than your screen (this will prevent the picture being larger than your screenshot)
- Paste the image you saved with Print Screen (Ctrl + V)
- Save the image
Now all you need to do is upload the image to an image-sharing site, I will use Imgur.com as an example:
- You should see an option to upload your image, in the case of Imgur it's called "Upload images", where you need to press "Computer":
- Once your screenshot (or screenshots) are selected start the uploading; Imgur has a button called "Start Upload" for this:
- Now you should see a bunch of different sharing options. Seeing as you want to share the image on a forum click on the "Message Boards" link and copy it (other sites may use other names but just look for the familiar [IMG][/IMG] tags):
- To put it in your post just paste the code, as seen here:
A few of the most common uploading sites are: Imgur, TinyPic, ImageShack and Photobucket.
3 Virus scans
Whenever you release anything you must always include two different virus scan links. To do this just upload the attachment (not just the .dll or .exe, always upload exactly what you're attaching on MPGH) to an online virus scanning service, once it is done scanning just copy and paste the link into the post.
A few commonly used online scanners are: VirusTotal, Jotti, VirSCAN and VirusChief.
4 Credits & Advertising
If the hack is not yours you must credit the original creator but make sure you do not advertise whilst doing so. Advertising is strictly forbidden - you may not post any links to other hack sites or gaming sites that support cheating or hacking, you may not post hacks that have links in them or in any way redirect users to other sites.
5 Why can't users download my hacks? QQ
Every attachment, regardless of it's type, must be first checked by a minion or mod of the section. In some occasions even admins may check releases before they are approved. Only approved attachments can be downloaded, if an attachment isn't approved yet it will say "Attachment pending approval".
To make sure the approval process goes faster you may mention the minions / mods in the section by typing their names after an at symbol (if you want to call me you would do the following: @ + Alen = @Alen), don't just spam and cry about not being able to download something.
6 That's very long ... is there a shorter version?
The original how-to release guide was written by Liz and can be found here: [IMPORTANT] HOW TO POST A HACK/FILE CORRECTLY.

If you have antivirus software installed, disable it. And what OS are you running?
Greenshot | Download Greenshot software for free at SourceForge.net
If you can't take a screenshot with pressing Print screen, I would recommend you to download that program. When you install it, there should be a new icon in your system tray. Right click on it and select "Capture Full Screen".
