Hey guys i was wondering if i should buy this gaming desktop for bday

So im looking to get a new gaming desktop for my bday and im thinking the acer predator AG310 here some specs:

Now the thing is im really looking forward to seeing if it can run bf3 max or at least high spec and on 1920 x 1080 reso since thats the monitor size it comes with. (the only reason im specifically saying bf3 is cause its generally the most powerful game, but also crysis 2 i guess and others like that)

I havent really seen that many reviews that specify what games it can run, although the graphics card is not quite stellar for a gaming desktop like this, but keep in mind its 2gb of dedicated memory, which probably makes a difference.

Anyways this is my first gaming desktop ive gotten (or want to get) and i want to know if theres anything better in the market for about the same price or lower, and likely comes as a bundle like this; or if you think i should stick with getting this and it would be fine for battlefield and high requiring games like that, and if not il upgrade the graphics card l8tr. ( 2 more things pls dont bring up alienware unless you have a good reason why and im also not the type of person that's going to want to build a comp, i find it less reliable than factory made haha)

well you wouldn't be able to play many games, and you defo wont be able to play HD :/

you could play Battlefield 3 on Ultra Settings @1280 x 720

though you will experience a lot of lag,

the rest of the set up is brilliant, just if you buy it think about a better graphics card?

or build your own gaming PC for much cheaper? look on ebuyer? newegg? and buy custom parts.

K, thx for that reply, would you happen to know what the cheapest graphics card I could get would be and that would comply with all my computer settings, power-wise, but still be able to do what I listed above, for bf3 and oher games like that?

I can get 30 fps using a radeon 5770 on ultra 1080p hd

i get 45 fps with gamebooster

but loks like a solid computer but, Im not an expert in graphics

Do you guys think if i get that computer, then l8tr upgrade to the geforce gtx 550 ti, il be able to get some solid gaming on 1920 x 1080 on bf3, not ultra or anything but just something that won't lag incredibly, also it says for the comp its power supply is 500, is tht enough for this card, and say I do buy the comp and the power supply is enough, would there be anything else needed for me to buy in order to place the card in my system? 6990 was inferior in sound, and performance to the 590, it is also last generations Tech and is only a tiny bit more powerful than the 7970 which @ launch was less and it is near impossible to find a NEW 6990 and definitely not worth it unless you have a 6970 to trifire.

$1400 is $500 over the cost of that PC at minimum. Build yourself, if I can walk a newb at pc's completely from beginning to end you can build your own too.

Go AMD if you're on a budget. Down with NVIDIA!

7xxx series is not AMD budget CPU/APU's, Nvidia has more time being a pure GPU company to perfect drivers making them the defacto best option. That being said the 7970 and 680 are damn equal where as the 6970 was just a bit behind the 580 and just a bit ahead of the 570. The 7850 however is the absolute best dollar for dollar as it overclocks so well that it can surpass the 580's performance and get on par w/ a 7950 w/o voltage adjustments usually.

@ what resolution on your laptop? As mobile gpu's are often askew from desktop.

definatly agree with this one, even though you could save some money at the RAM, case and the cpu cooler.

on that card, the 2gb would slow it down. the gpu is just not made for high resolution gaming and thats why i cant see a reasonable argument to put 2 gigs of ram on that card.

if you want to play bf 3 grab at least a GTX 560. i still suggest you take the amd 7850. its just $250 @newegg. if you want more you can go with an nvidia 670/680 or an amd 7950/7970, depends on what you want to spend.

mister oiendoio did a great suggestion with -pretty nice pc-, i felt free to tweak it a little bit, its cheaper now and even got your 1080p gaming screen

it runs bf3 on ultra and for sure will run crysis 3 on ultra.

The ram is that high so you can disable the paging file and not constantly write to the SSD, increasing its life span. The case is just a really good case in general a myriad of choices exist and I actually recommend you just find one you like from a reputable company. Personal experience with sandy,ivy bridge and the corsair A70 let me know 2 things, @ 4.8Ghz I only topped 69c during a prime95 test for 7hours, and secondly that corsairs performance and installation are amazing.
