MPGH Radio (Updates!)
Earlier this week, Dave did some work onto the MPGH Radio and made it so users do not have to put the "listen.pls" file into Winamp, iTunes, or any program like that. You are now able to listen to a certain stream by going to it's MPGH link.

All you have to do is change the number where it says "1" to go to the next stream. If you want to know the difference in genre between each stream, or what song is playing go to: http://65.254.62.150:8000/index.html (which is the index of the streams) and click on the stream you'd like to know more information about.

Syrian Diplomats Abscond as Aleppo Fighting Worsens

The U.S. has confirmed that two or more of Syrian's diplomats fled due to the mounting pressure on the regime of President Bashar al-Assad. This was an outcome of the intense fighting clashing in Aleppo, which is Syria's commercial capital, stronghold of President al-Assad, and home to approximately 4 million people. Aleppo was seized by rebel troops earlier this month, but government forces hope to regain it as quickly as possible. The Syrian governement rushed troops and tanks to oust the rebels from Aleppo, but the rebel soldiers are still standing their ground. With the defection of the Syrian diplomats, White House spokesman, Jay Carney, told reporters,"Senior officials around the Assad inner circle are fleeing the government because of the heinous actions taken by Assad against his own people and the recognition that Assad's days are numbered".

Ghana's New President Pledges Stability

On June 24, 2012, Ghana's former president, John Atta Mills, passed away in Accra allegedly due to throat cancer. Five hours following his death, John Mahama was sworn in, and this rapid transition shows that Ghana now has a mature, capable government. During an emergency parliamentary meeting, Mahama said, "I wish Ghanaians to be assured that all is well. "We are going to maintain the peace, unity and stability that Ghana is noted for."

Mr. Mahama has declared a week of national mourning for the death of former president John Atta Mills.





Company of Heroes 2 Weather Dynamics

Company of Heroes 2, the award-winning upcoming RTS will feature weather condition simulation technology never seen before in the RTS genre.
The game will use the new ColdTech system which includes an "extreme cold" mechanic which accurately encapsulates the Soviet winter which reached extremes of -40F in 1941.
On winter maps, units exposed to the bitter cold will gradually freeze to death unless the player keeps them warm by building fires and garrisoning them in buildings.
There is also a new system called the Essence Engine to dynamically paint on and off snow, meaning that not only does it accumulate on buildings and vehicles, but it can also be melted or removed from objects by the player. And ice is not only there to look pretty, but can also be used to kill your enemy.
Company of Heroes 2 is scheduled to release for Pc in early 2013.



L4D2 Updates

Cold Stream is the new campaign available free for all Left 4 Dead 2 players. The game will automatically update to this. Cold Stream features the community made Cold Stream campaign, 20 maps, and the L4D1 campaigns, Blood Harvest, Crash Course, Dead Air, and Death Toll.
They are also featuring the Community Campaign Deathcraft II. This campaign is a total conversion of the world of L4D into Minecraft. More information about this can be found here.
And the L4D2 characters are now available in Valve's movie making tool the Source Film Maker (SFM). While the tool is TF2 focuses, the community has already been creating and dropping in L4D assets as well.

Mists of Pandaria

Blizzard Entertainment announced on their website today that the long waited expansion Mists of Pandaria will be available on September 25, 2012. If you want to be ready to play when the servers go live, you can pre-purchase the game digitally.
There will be 3 different version you can buy: The Standard Edition (for $40), The Digital Deluxe Edition (for $60), or the Collector's Edition (for $80).
The Digital Deluxe version comes with:
-World of Warcraft in-game mount
-World of Warcraft in-game pet
-StarCraft 2 Battle.net Portraits
-Diablo 3 banner Sigil and Accent

Gabe Newell hates Windows 8

Gabe Newell, the co-founder and managing director of Valve made a rare appearance last night at Casual Connect, an annual video game conference in Seattle.
Newell unveiled some of his most secretive projects in an interview onstage with Ed Fried, former VP of game publishing at Microsoft. He talks about what he thinks about the future of video game distribution, Windows 8, and more.

Nvidia releases A New Dawn

In 2002, Nvidia released a demo called "Dawn" to demonstrate the power and programmability of GeForce FX. Now, Nvidia has brought back Dawn once again, in a demo. The demo starts not with the main character, but with a sweeping overview of a rainforest. As our character comes into view, we find her swinging on a vine in her tree home. The tree is rendered to the finest level of detail using DirectX11 tessellation. At its peak, over four million polygons are used to showcase Dawn's environment.

Another dramatic improvement is Dawn's hair. It now has 40,000 soft locks of hair where as the old one had 1,700 stands. Advanced shading allows her hair to move out of the jet-black colo scheme. While still a brunette, you'll see her hair flowing in the wind, reflecting and transmitting light from the environment.
A New Dawn was developed to showcase the performance and capabilities of Nvidia's flagship GeForce GTX 690 graphics card, but following reader feedback after the initial announcement of the demo last night, they have introduced a less demanding mode that allows 670 and 680 owners to also enjoy the demo.

Tunderstruck

It is speculated that yet another form of malware has struck Iran’s nuclear facilities after an Iranian nuclear scientist contacted Mikko Hypponen, head security researcher of Finnish computer security firm, F-Secure. The researcher wrote, and I quote, “There was also some music playing randomly on several of the workstations during the middle of the night with the volume maxed out. I believe it was playing ‘Thunderstruck’ by AC/DC.” Mikko believes that Metaslpoit, an open source project that allows users to test software and networks for vulnerabilities, was used. This is the second confirmed attack on the Iranian nuclear program, after the Stuxnet worm. I hope the hacker is taking requests, I want to hear highway to hell.

It has now been confirmed that the new iPad and iPhone lines are to be launched with a 19 pin dock. The IPhone 5, set to be launched this October, is confirmed to have the 19 pin dock, a 4in screen, and the 3.5in jack squeezed on the bottom. This is going to irritate me, as an iPhone user. It has been rumored that Apple’s move from the old 30 pin, to the new 19 pin connector, has been influenced by their plans for the new “authorized access program”. The new program will prevent any un-authorized accessory manufacturer from producing accessories for Apple’s products without paying royalty to Apple. Way to rack up more lawsuits.
