    HDD vs SSD

So right now I just bought Windows 8, but with 120 GB of hard drive space. I'm thinking of getting an SSD, but I'm not sure. People say it's way faster, but what's so special about it? What's the difference between HDD and SSD?

SSD is way faster than HDD, I can't even think about going back to HDD. I literally load everything within half a second and boot my PC in about 5 seconds. I used to boot in like a minute and a half.

If you want to check the difference

With the price difference, but this difference is of course going back to quality

I think he means in comparison to storage sizes.

I have W7, Ubuntu, and W8 (still trying to get this shit to work properly) on my SSD, then I have two external TB HDD Hybrids for storage. Runs fast as fuck and I saved a little dough

Difference is the Sold State Drive reads and writes faster. Doesn't make a difference in gaming though.

Makes a difference in load times of course, say starting the game, and when the game is generating completely new instances that require to load from the hard drive again.

I have Windows 8, single boot only. I have no other plan of dual-booting
