Hello guys, my ign is Jazk and as you can see im currently on 1317 ELO.
About me: I'm a casual player that in middle of the S2 started to play rankeds for fun and to get a 'competitive' scene, what i did really was making the LoL community worse and start limitating my capacities. I got down to the TRUE TERROR 700 ELO, a place when the community was a bitch and no good plays/players were.
I've bring this guide to MPGH so the people who are encouraging to enter rankeds or are in the deep "hell" can improve their ELO (This doesn't mean you'll be 1200+ in no time, but it helps):
WARDS.
There is no other way to go, I've seen tons of players going thru river when there was no map awarness at all, making their life a lil more gold to the enemy and another reason to surrender.
Buying a ward only costs 75g, the same as last hitting 2 melee minions and 1 caster at early levels.
Having total control of your lane also helps you to know when to engage and when to start pushing (aka: denying farm)
Last hitting a wave of minions (not including the demolisher one = 6 minions) gives you the gold to buy 2 wards. That means 6 minutes of lane control or 6 minutes of buffs control.
NEVER SURRENDER
You shall not give a fuck if you're losing by 40 kills, and you're on your nexus with no turrets. THERE IS ALWAYS A WAY TO WIN.
At low elo I see frecently that people tend to get cocky and start overextending being alone from their group.
THERE is where you should have buff control (Baron especially) and jungle.
I've won and lost so many games because someone over extendends then we do baron (5 v 4 fight) and we just push until the game is over.
Teaching and being calm helps a lot here, when your team gives up they will stop caring and stop playing seriously, making winning even harder.
PLAY CHAMPS YOU KNOW HOW TO USE.
I've seen many people trying to play Jayce against mt Dairus because the webpage says so, if you're well enough with your champ you can squeeze the opposite laner (even if he's your counter)
LEARN TO LAST HIT
Knowing how to last hit grants you 1/3 of the game. FARM = GOLG = ITEMS = PWNAGE
I recommend to practice on bots until you have quite decent farm and then on some normals.
DON'T ENTER RANKED IF YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO DO ALL ROLES.
Damn, it's frustating when your last pick says he doesn't know how to support. I mean, surely it lowers your possibility of carrying yourself out, but by simply choosing a support, raises the team's moral a lot.
RUNES.
They key to smash in Ranked is to outplay the enemy by kills and farm, having a good set of runes is like having a 'First Blood' at lvl 1.
Discover the champs of each role you play most and buy their respective runes, you'll be out in no time.
YOU CANNOT WIN ALL GAMES.
Even if you go 10/0 Vayne, and the team goes the same and by any reason you lose, it's important to understand that not every single game can be won and that it may be bad for your elo if you get upset about this.
WHEN YOU LOSE OR WIN, TAKE A BREAK.
You have adrenaline from the last game or you're just really mad.
Entering a queue and start trolling and treating your teammates bad is like 4/5 that you will lose that game.
Being mad fucks the team's moral and being cocky just leads you to lose your lane.
KEEP CALM AND LET TROLLS RAGE HARDER.
When a troll starts flaming the entire team is common that everyone starts to get mad and start leaving/not doing anythig.
When you rage/get trolled by someone you're losing precious time.
Let them rage at the air and focus on the game.
IT'S ABOUT TIME.
Don't expect to gain 300 elo in 3 days or so, this takes a lot of time and effort (I took almost a year to raise 500 elo).
And finally, have fun. After all it's a game.
A screen when i was at 1000's
PD: Being good is also a key, but at this elo is not that important.
Also great tutorial. I managed to climb out from the 1000's to the 1500's. One thing i did was queue right after a game, no matter win or lose... but i was able to keep calm, i didnt really matter to me if we lost. This strategy got me up about 30-40 elo per day. although some really bad days it would drop. Ive also found that a majority of LoL "good" players are on in the morning where i live. (8:00-11:00 mountain time)
also i main adc, and i found that even if you are losing bot lane if you are able to out cs the other adc on the opposing team you can easily overpower them in 15minutes or so. I tend to have around 110 cs at 15 minutes.
Just thought of another thing that helped me climb the ladders. If you call a role and a higher pick takes that role you wanted DO NOT TROLL, this shows that the person trolling lacks any common knowledge and is a complete moron... could also be someone that gets pissed easily and people will then try and piss you off for the rest of the game. You will also get like 2-3 reports which is never good.
trolling just make you look bad and everyone that is against you, even your teammates, will look down upon you.

good guide btw
I would've added that you shouldn't play ranked if you don't have at least like... 20 Champions (4 for each role - adc, mid, support, top, jungle)
Yeah you gotta have backups to your backups n be able to play any role
Wow, that Xin build is terrible. Good guide though Jazk.
I can only play 3 champs(fizz,teemo,shaco) and I'm 1700 elo :P
What happens if they ban shaco and teemo and they pick fizz?
You may not be the best with other champs.. but you know how to use them quite good.
Nice guide..
Maybe i'll get out of elo hell soon
I'm like 800 elo player with other champs, if they ban my fav champs I simply dodge dat :/ 1860 now :P
watch pro player's stream to get better
Nice guide.
I don't see why there was a point for this, you should already know to be positive and not troll etc. Work with your team stay calm = win
Isn't it simple enough?
