Islam.

I am 14,and let me start off by saying I am ignorant to alot of Islam, and alot of the quran, for i have just started to even begin to comprehend it, but i just wanted to clear somethings up. Islam, is a beautiful religion, but unfortunately it was given to some terrible people, and me being arab, i'm not afraid to say this. PLEASE don't blame Islam, for the people's mistakes. Islam is a very beautiful religion, when you read the Quran, you feel enlightened, you feel rejuvenated. Unfourtunately, some people take the Quran, and the early texts, too literally, because the Quran likes to use alot of examples, and similies. And when they do so, they start to assume many things, which are EXETREMELY wrong. Terrorists, are people who have this sort of built in HATRED towards westerners etc, and one of the easiest ways too lure a young boy, living in a middle-eastern, islam influenced country is by telling them ( Usually why they are still adolescents, and going through a time of their lives which maybe confusing. ) That doing this will send you straight to Paradise, and doing this is for the stake of Islam, and Allah. Please, don't generalize people, as for me i dont generalize jews ( I'm using jews as an example because of the tensions between our two religions) I see Jews as equals, we believe something, they believe another thing, what's happening in gaza, sure we can do stuff to help, but we shouldn't HATE our jewish friend down the street just because of what's happening there) And also, please read the Quran carefully, and keep in mind that it has various meanings, and when one thing is stated, it possibly means another thing. The Quran was meant to be read with an open mind! And when you read it, have an experienced muslim explain it to you, one who you feel understands the meanings of the different texts! So please, Islam is too complicated too summarize in a thread, but keep in mind that its the simple things in islam we have to worry about. Ignore the Radical Ideals of those losers. Salam.

i get your point, and your right, we shouldn't blame Islam for the actions ppl do. But the media chooses to see islam like we would see christianity during the crusade. They choose to see it is a barbaric way and only used to blind ppl of what should be right. Now i myself am not muslim, nor will i ever be, but being as i shall read the Quran one of these days, i will choose to not make another person explain it to me. Sure i may benifit, and understand more, but thats where it comes in, thats when the person explaining it too you forgets about the text and preaches too you. You know as far as beautiful religions go though, i don't think you may judge a religion on its "beauty" Because you may only believe truly in one religion so how may you describe beauty if only one is true?

Yup yup, Islam is fine. Just some people misinterpreting it, not to mention the media who are doing the same thing (or maybe on purpose I dunno).

They just have their own ideas and want to use islam as bait for people to blow themselves up. I mean alot of these people have terrible lives already, either are too poor, or can't feed their own families, so they get brainwashed into thinking that in order to escape the hell their living in and get a one way ticket to heaven, you go blow up yourself, and a couple of other people while your at it.

I am seriously tired off this, i agree with supb and samsara. Media ruins everything. You guys should read this nice book i read, called Media Virus. Its about how stereotypes and all this news spreads so quickly and how quickly you can get infected through media. Cnn/tabliods/fox/ all the shet will do anything just to get some cash. You know "donations" for wars, support for wars. The last thing on my mind is to have a war. I sympathize with people of all religions getting hated on, not just islam contrary to what people would say since i am muslim. I am definatley NOT RACIST and nor do i ahve stereotypes. Most i do is you know jews being greedy but i do it for a laugh cuz i have some freinds who are jews or i might call somone a ****** but only for laughs, :/. i dont care if someone calls me terrorist or osama bin laden cuz i know better than that. this is why i will never work for the media because of how many people you let down just to get fame and glory.

Listen, say you have a big company like Fox news, or CNN. You have to get money somehow right? Advertisers, Big companies, sponsors etc. Say you're trying to do an article about something, and the sponsors don't like what you are talking about, they can just say to CNN " Nope, run this and we're no longer paying you." Then they're screwed right, so they have no choice. Sugarcoding's a bitch, and headshotz my friend has that book, i'll see if i can borrow it.
