A novel negative rep/CS proposal.

My entire philosophy behind the idea was that CS' actually get encouraged to contribute to the community, and have an open door to get out if they want to achieve so.

I hate this mentality in the world. Applying it to everything. Reminds me of slavery. Mostly because I'm learning about it in American History.

Why the fuck would anyone want to contribute to the community in which everyone is hating on them, in which they have been titled to as open to all flame and insult, and where half the people don't accept them.

You would like to think that, but that's not how it works. Constantly bashing someone doesn't usually give them positive feelings. Openly inviting everyone to bash that person, doesn't help any bit either.

Slaves hated their masters. They were constantly abused throughout the entire process. You didn't see them thinking to become better slaves did you now? No. They all only gained more fear in their minds.

That fear led them to uprisings and rebellions. It only provoked and angered them more. They never once thought about "being a better slave" when they're being treated the same way, or worse.

If "reputation serves no purpose just like CS", then why do you care so much about negative rep.
Negative or postive rep, it is still reputation.
Don't see your point at all because you are for and against at the same time.
However, the part where everyone is going to abuse negatve rep has been shown in the past.
If you remember, a lot of members were abused and had and still have negative rep. The point where you say you would derep someone has nothing to do with the society wants.
In a sense that you clearly stated yourself that YOU want to DEREP others whereas many people want to derep others.
If derepping someone is so important and everyone decides to derep each other, eventually the community will have a derep war.
Even though they may not derep you as much, but the morality of that is just stupid.
It makes sense to punish others with negative reputation, yet at the same time when you receive negative reputation, who will be the one crying?
It is a cycle of hate or love.
Think about it deeper of how such little change can impact such a community.
Where you state that someone will ragequit the website because about negative rep; have you thought about the person making a new account and giving you negative rep back?

In all seriousness, there is a reason why Dave removed negative rep. Don't just think he did it for fun.
