Hello,
I have ran many servers before a while ago but i decided to make a epoch server so i could relax and play my own way with my own customization.
So I blocked the usual ports so I can play on my non legit account and every time i try to join I get the Bad CD key error.
I played around with the firewall rules for a hour or two then decided to just turn battle eye off and stick a password on my server.
The problem is even with battle eye off it's still saying bad Cd key It shouldn't be kicking me because i have the same key as the server i'm sure I had that option turned off.
Could someone please help me?
Hosting on my rig. But i'm not sure I can do this anymore I sort of screwed my arma 2 directory and I cant be bothered fixing it. I'm working on a port for arma 3 for Dayz currently but I have ran across a few bumps I need to find some working files to see how they solved a few problems. If anyone has any working Dead Nation, Zoombies etc server files I would really appreciate getting a copy so i can take a look. I'm about 70% done with my own currently.
Are you getting "Bad CD key" when you start up arma?
Also Just to add I noticed that when i start the server as admin it cant find the arma2oa.exe it only works when i dont start it as admin. Some kind of permission problem?
Just found something interesting I thought hell why not start the server flick my net off and connect turns out somehow even with those ports block BE is getting through got this message when i got in.
Could not resolve host name is.bistudio.com
it had extra on the end as well
But even with BE off I still get kicked for my cd key. The only way I can get on is start the server turn my net off join it and turn it back on.

With battle eye off would it still connect to see if you have a valid key?
im no expert on ports, but once a port is used, cant it not be binded again?
If your server is using the same port your battle eye client is, Would one not work, then say it was a bad key?
Well i cant think of anything.. Try downloading a no-CD key server, they prob dont have those for epoch.
I have no idea really. Sorry I couldnt help :P
I had this same issue. Do you have a antivirus of some sort? I found that although I set the ports to be blocked on my Windows Firewall, it wasn't active, and my anti virus software had a firewall of its own which was. So the port wasn't being blocked. Once I blocked it on the 3rd party software, it worked.
