It's happened to me a couple of times, I simply cancel editing, copy my post, and then paste my post in, change what I want, and voila, it's edited. There's a bit of odd formatting, but it's easily fixed.
It works fine for me on Chrome. I suggest using Chrome if you don't already

Maybe a problem with your broswer registry? To be honest i don't know. I would advise you to make what @Ahlwong sugested as i also use Chrome and that problem rarely happens to me. If using Chrome as your default browser didn't solve the problem just leave it because like Hero said, it also might be a vbulletin problem (that can be corrected through acp).
