That is actually possible because when a CPU gets overheated it can throtle wich means slowing down the CPU for lower temteratures, try a lower overclock.

lol one of my friends overclocked a thunderbird processor, you remember the really old one?
anyway he overclocked it so much to 4ghz but his comp was FKED! it was coming up with waring scrrens, failing and everything
it was so funny, and worth it too:P

For all the choobs that are going to try this, DONT. Overclocking your pc without proper cooling will result in your hardware frying, only attempt if you know what your doing
