I buy used, but the worst thing about it is the additional testing required. If I buy new, I know I am covered by warranty and can let time tease out any issues. If I buy used, there is a very narrow window (if at all) of being able to put back to the seller if there are any defects.

But the value is there.

Its a 50/50 with used computer parts. But I'll generally go for used parts because its so much cheaper but I've had experience with used parts that just fail on me or break which makes it not worth it. But instead of buying it on Craigslist anymore, I recommend you guys frequent /r/Hardwareswap.

This will be true in so many ways, I am also curious to the demand and if Nvidia will meet supply..

Buying second hand/refurbished is alright. But DO NOT buy from miners, because their cards are most likely very used from continuous mining and their lifespan will be much shorter

It's a good idea... Unless you buy a mining graphic card which was used h24 at 70°C

For example, there is many graphics cards who is almost same with some very expensive like new (means models), I think its okay to buy used components

It's quite risky as the parts might be not functioning properly

Ive had many bad experiences with buying MOBOs and other delicate parts second hand. For me its not worth the $100 based on the risk.

I've bought multiple used pc's before and had no issues with them, I usually buy the ones that looks like they were maintained well (obviously not dusty af )
I then go to their house to test out the rig and see if there's any issues in temperature (burnt smell also shows the parts have been fried) /pixels from gpu. I only give the money when I'm satisfied

I've never bought used and probably never will but it is interesting how cheap used parts are.
