i plan on going amd with my custom build in the future.
I personally prefer Intel but amd is better price for what u get

I have Intel, always had it. For what I can see now prices are equal and in the past AMD was way, way cheaper.

Intel is the like Apple but now CPU
AMD was behind Intel for a long time but last year just surpassed him. I would definetly go for AMD ryzen 3000 series rn, great CPU power for around 300-500 bucks.
You can overclock a AMD and they wont care,Intel on the other hand,They just say buy another one
i don't know if amd is more power consumer than intel i got i7-10700
AMD based on if you are streaming or doing anything else besides gaming, if you only game then Intel is better but if you stream etc AMD
The waters are muddied a bit now. If you have lots of programs running I think a 10 core Intel will do you justice, I consider the $500 10900KF to be a better purchase than the 3900X and the 3950X is just a tad bit too expensive to be in the same price range. If you need the cores or can't spare the extra hundred. The 10850K is also competitive but not released yet. On an 8700K I only really ran into issues while gaming, streaming, and running two vms in the form of an emulator and a w10 vm maxing a thread and a little bit of graphics.
The 2080 and Ti sometimes run into CPU bottlenecks and with the RTX 3000 series providing so much more performance it may be wise to with Intel instead of AMD even if you aren't planning on blowing $500 on a cpu.
depends what you're looking for. Gaming only? Intel is better, always has been and always will be, AMD cannot mach their single core base clock speed, and they are years and years behind.
But everything else? Streaming, editing, videos/movies, memory/cpu intensive programs, AMD is far superior. Their multi-core CPU's have the best mutithreading available, and their multi threading is now an entire generation ahead of Intels.
I am really happy with my AMD 3700x CPU because of the price and performance.
AMD got the best perfomace/price CPU´s to be honest.
