I am not completely sure, but I thing the hack detection is done by the server.

I know the sync thing, but it would be more cool if it would work on the MP, because there aren't a lot of them synced servers.

But if you think about it, I'm pretty sure that the detection is not done by server,
because you get kicked in singleplayer for: teleporting, noclip.

The server checks if there are network players connected, just like your client does. If there are network players then the servers anti-hack takes effect and the clients simply stands down and doesn't run. It leaves it up to the server. If your hosting then you can remove the anti-hack but I'm not sure why you would want to do that.
