You need to set the path variable. Go to your DOS prompt and type in
"set PATH=<insert the path to the dev-cpp bin directory>" and see if it makes a difference.
If it doesn't, reinstall Dev-Cpp or use Code::Blocks (which I find is WAY better).
ok im just starting to learn to programm in c++ i havnt had time to yet so yeah... anyways i tried using bloodsheddev compiler and i keep getting this error anyone can help me out ?
error:
there doesnt seem to be GNU make file in PATH or in devc++ bin path. please make sure that you have GNU make and adjust Bin seetings or system in PATH enviornment variable and that make setting in compiler options contains correct file name, otherwise you wont be able to compile anything.

Its not dev-c++ : I know that from experience
which one is it ... then which compiler should i use for dev still not workign for me
Not many free good C++ compilers out there, mostly C... try and pirate a copy of VS6 or 2k3
No man. You can get so many good compilers for C++ without having to pay anything dude - its a free language. That is why it is so beautiful.
Use Code::blocks - www.codeblocks.org. Best IDE ever. Get the package with mingw32 - which also happens to be the best compiler (for win32) ever. Better then Micro$oft's version.
Use pelles C, its for C only but its the best c compiler ive used.
You could just re-instal Dev-C++, I know from experience that it's good (and I'm a software engineer). Code::Blocks is essentially the same thing though - They both use the GNU GCC compiler. The difference is in the IDE... and in all seriousness, for a beginner there's not a lot of difference there either. Just open dev-cpp click new, type a program in, click compile and run it.
Code blocks is actively developed, however, whilst Dev-Cpp has laid dormant for a few years now.
