    I got this email invitation from Jagex about this mid-summer special, 7 day FREE member subscription trial.
    This is legit and I know this is legit.
    Do not cancel your current membership: Only valid for players who have not been members in the past.
    Credit card required.
    You have to cancel within the trial period otherwise you may be charged.
    For those who hasn't experienced Runescape membership or don't have a credit card, don't worry, you can always buy a prepaid card.

    Yes, you need a payment card, but you won't be charged unless you end your free membership on an appropriate time. So YES, it is free for 7 days.
