Need Help ... CALLING OUT EVERYBODY ..

CFPH just finished updating for its IRON FIST PATCH but why can't I launch my CF? It says "File is changed : W[2007] L[0] crossfire.exe" ?

I have read in some FB cf sites that they can already play CF .. What should I do here? How will I fix this?

[Auto Patch]
1. Uncheck read-only (version.ini)
2. Change the latest version to 1063 then save
3. Check read-only
4. Run cf launcher

[Manual Patch]
1. Check read-only (version.ini)
2. Run CF_Manual_120906
3. Run CFLauncher.

Yup, until now .. I read the sticky thread and I've done all the tips in there except the one where I have to download the crossfire.exe, just because I do not really understand that, does that mean that I'm supposed to re-install CF?

I think.. you need to copy the whole rez files on other pc that have original files of CF

but.. that was 2-Gig

I've managed to update CF in my other computer but with this PC it says access denied when I try to change the version to 1063 ..

reinstall is the easiest way. . . .

How is re-installing easy? Maybe if you have the fastest internet speed in the world, maybe that would make it easy .. re-installing is next to the very last option for me.

You just have to uninstall & reinstall a new one.

1. Uninstall cf client (Clean)
2. Fully scanned your PC, I think there are still virus or running application that affects your Client.
3. Restart your PC.
4. Reinstall the cf client. Here's the link below


1st Download the installer/setup. Choose one. (Includes the December Update: Hero Mode Patch)

- Torrent File (You need to use torrent downloader [e.g. uTorrent, BitTorrent, Vuze(Azureus), etc]).


2nd: Download the cumulative patch which contains "all the previous patches". Choose one.

If you have anti-virus installed in your PC kindly follow the steps below:
1. Make a clean re-installation process - Uninstall/Delete CF folder.
2. Scan PC for viruses. (recommended)
3. Download the latest and updated version client - CF_Setup_120705
4. Disable the antivirus program.
5. Install the CF_Setup_120705.
6. Configure your antivirus settings. Add CF folder in your antivirus exceptions or exclusions list.
7. Enable your antivirus program.
8. Run CFLauncher.

I get an error whenever I click the gameclub links.

Okay here's what I did to access the version.ini file.

1. Open CF FOLDER
2. FIND version.ini file
3. Right Click version.ini file then click PROPERTIES
4. Click Security Tab and Click Edit(Permission)
5. Tick Full Control and Click Apply.
6. Open version.ini file
7. Change 1062 to 1063 and Save
8. Right Click version.ini File then PROPERTIES
9. Tick Read Only then Click Apply then Ok.
10. Launch Crossfire.

Forget about that Re-installing BS .

If your OS is windows7 and you can edit the version.ini file without the "Access Denied" popping-up.

1. Open CF Folder
2. Look for version.ini file and Open it.
3. Change/Edit the version to 1063 and Click "FILE" then "Save" then Close
4. RIGHT-CLICK version.ini File then TICK the Read-Only box then Click Apply then OK.
5. Run CF LAUNCHER or patcher_cf2.exe

If "Access Denied" Pops-up.
Okay here's what I did to access the version.ini file.
