CD key Help "hate steam" -_-

Hello,
I've recently bought a CD key for Arma 2 and used Darky Key Changer to change my key. All this is done so I can play on a certain Dayz server I'm banned from. And as every new CD Key comes with reinstalling the Arma 2 update on Dayz Commander, but everytime I try it says "Wrong CD Key". Meaning I need to start the game up before I can actually reinstall the update. But seeing how I have the game installed on Steam it seems I absolutley have to start Arma 2 through steam. But everytime I do that steam automatically resets my CD key back to the original before I used the Darky Key Changer. So my question is how can I start Arma 2 OA without steam? Or is there a way I can update Arma 2 on Dayz Commander without starting steam up?

use dayz commander and tick off "launch through steam".

how do people like you exist? no idea how computers or games work in these times is sad
