    Nicotine is a highly addictive drug in which is a colorless, oily water, and very toxic. It is found in tobacco and valued as an insectiside. Smoking can cause cancer, emphysema, heart disease, and complications with pregnancy. Since people beleive they can quit smoking anytime they want, people ignore these problems that can occur.


    CLASSIFICATION
    Nicotine is classified as a stimulant, but it can have a stimulating or a depressing effect. Since nicotine has very addictive qualitys, 80% of people who try somking become addicted. thats only 20% who can stop, and with repeated use, you need more and more each time you smoke.

    WHERE IT COMES FROM
    Nicotine is an organic compund that comes from the tobacco plant.


    APETITE
    Nicotine suppresses the appetite. People assume that they will eat more, which lead to the consequence of gaining alot of weight.

    ADDICTION
    Some doctors claim that nicotine is just as addicting as heroin or cocaine. Also, the ads that people put up in magazines, on television, and on billboards make it more tempting to smoke.

    EFFECTS
    An effect is that when the drug is being use, you have good feelings. When you don't use nicotine, you gave bad feelings.

    SYMPTOMS OF NICOTINE WITHDRAWL
    * irritability
    * impatience
    * hostility
    * anxiety
    * depressed mood
    * difficulty concentrating
    * restlessness
    * decreased heart rate
    * increased appetite or weight gain

    no where in there did you actually say straight out that nicotine is in cigarettes.
