Which then automatically download 'divx' codec from some site along the lines of 'divxupdate.org'
and nothing afterwards.

Im wondering (because it probably most deffinetly is a virus), would MalwareBytes be good to remove it?

I've heard good reviews about the program, and I just really want the virus out of my PC

The DivX codec isn't a virus, but it is kinda strange that a torrent auto-downloaded the codec.
