Noob questions about modding (flag icons, etc.)

Hi people!

I have been trying to change flag icon (It is annoying when does not let you to look) and MW2 give me errors.

I used this tutorial: https://www.mpgh.net/forum/showthread.php?t=300463

The icon I designed on PS have transparent background. I used Edit > Flatten Image (google translate) and it put my background white. I tried saving it in DXT-5 because it has alpha channel, and with DXT-1.

I think the fail should be on the image design, but I do not know why...
