Unexplainable skill at the start of the show. First mission he does he fucking damn near teleports past his "target" and fuckin slashes him down in like 2 swings.

I hate how people praise the source material when the source material is also shit.

I've read Akame ga Kill's manga, it's shit.



There are three main issues .

1. No story or specific goal. They are supposed to "take out the government" but the only character who remains at the "head" of anything is Esdeath, who isn't even really a part of the government, but the Police. Not even that, she's practically a mercenary. I mean the whole group "Nightraid" do nothing but defend themselves for 90% of the series and have no planned assassinations.


2. Forgettable characters who get killed off. The difference between a series like Dorohedoro and Akame is that Dorohedoro takes time to introduce a character and gives them a unique character design before they are killed, and you don't even know if that character is going to be killed. Akame can't help but throw up 10+ death flags for every character that dies. It's like the writer knows how cringeworthy it is but also knows teenagers can't see the deathflags either.


3. Pacing. Hahahha, edgy, ahhahaha, insane face, ahahahah, edgy. Like wow, is the author bipolar? That and the fact that there so many people deprived of humanity in what seems like generic fantasy just screams tryhard.
