Vin Diesel promises Fast & Furious Fans last trilogy.

Dominic Toretto and his crew are going on three last rides. In a Facebook post published on Friday, Vin Diesel announced that, with Universal Pictures' approval, the Fast and the Furious franchise will finally end after a closing trilogy. Expect explosions

"The fans of the Fast & Furious SAGA are the best fans in the world..." he wrote. "Since I became the Producer in 2008, you have been with me every step of the way... Literally giving me feedback that proved invaluable. Thank you... Universal has been so good to me and trusting of the vision... They have been like family... I promised the studio I would deliver one last Trilogy to end the saga."

That the Furious series is getting such an outsized sendoff makes all the sense in the world. Furious 7 was a major part of Universal's winning summer, earning $1.5 Billion worldwide. But that doesn't mean Diesel is in any hurry. Even though Furious 8 is locked for a 2017 release, care has apparently been taken with finding the right director for the next film.
