Yeah I hate CoD now, liked it better when it wasn't futuristic. Last CoD I played was MW2 I think.

Problem is, half of the community complains COD is every year the same, just a reskin and selling it as a new game. Now the other half is complaining that they don't like this new kind of COD. People will never be happy :]

Honestly, lets look back before BO came along, people were MOSTLY happy with what they saw, as long as BO2 came along everything turned to shit and gotten more and more to futuristic side than modern day age, reason why people don't like it, look for BF for example? Do they GO with Futuristic style of gameplay? No, they are modern and hell even with BF 5 they can go to WW1 / WW2 that is what is good about BF, and their weaponry is party more "realism" than current Cods weaponry even if they are futuristic.. Hell they even added MP40 (looks stupid AF) in BO3...

I've been playing battlefield since Their first game. I think that game is going downhill rapidly. But I get your point. Problem with sci-fi is that you, as a gamer, can less relate. Immersity kind of dissappears when stuff gets realistic. However, I can see you addressing the problems. How would YOU solve it?

Going back to WW2 style or modern shooter, alright thats a start. But HOW would you make it different enough WITHOUT ruining the concept of what the game is about (a fast paced first person shooter with about 12 players per map?)

Immersity kind of dissappears when stuff gets realistic. However, I can see you addressing the problems. How would YOU solve it?

I would make it medium paces first person shooter (didn't mention anything about slow or fast). There is so specific "way" to go since I'm not a game designer and I really haven't given much thought into how would I do it, I would at least make maps / locations easy to access, MW2 or MW3 multiplayer was fast paced since the maps were relatively good and well optimized so people can get the killing going..

I think it's important to sometimes try and think of solutions yourself. Obviously we can all critisize things but unfortunately it's not Always so easy to solve and please everyone. After tons of critisism the game not being refreshing enough they decided to take a new route (without destroying the core concept of the game, which is important because people buy this sequel with certain expectations, a fast paced arcade shooter). Now people seem rather unpleased with this so I'm just wondering if people that complain about the game and the decisions that the developers take, actually gave thought on the complex situations they get into. I guess it might give a little more... appreciation?:P

Battlefield bad company 2 is still my favorite and I think they really should mix it up more. Battlefield 3 -> 4 -> 5. They have so many other sequels, the WW2 games

As for an actual statement, the futuristic Call of Duty games have been really questionable. Only one or two new features each year for another $60 is complete bullshit. Advanced Warfare and Black Ops 3 are close to the same.
