anyone still experiencing crashes?

for a while now my crossfire has been crashing during after and sometimes before a game starts. and its very bipolar about it as well. sometimes i can play all day somedays i'll have to restart my computer 3 times just to be able to finish one game. i know there was a bug in the game after a update that makes the game crash due to c++ coding errors but i believe that has been fixed.

i have no viruses have scanned countless of times
i use gamebooster *tried without as well*
i'm not using any hacks
i reinstalled the game with a fresh download
i updated my .net and graphics drivers
i fragged my hard drive
i use a laptop its a hp dv6810us vista its not the best but it played crossfire fine until a few months ago

my hard drive has crashed once before but i bought a new one and installed it. other then cf crashing my laptop has overall no problems. i have thought of reinstalling or even upgrading to windows 7 but considering this isn't a personal laptop it will be a last option. at the moment i am going for a 3rd try and reinstalling the game

i wanted to give as much detail so that i could single out all the possibilities.

anyway long story short gots vista laptop and game crashes constantly

well the main reason for this thread was to be sure i wasn't the only one experiencing this. now on to some solutions.



i've noticed that after reinstalling my video drivers it did help the game for a couple days but the crashes came back again. this could of have been pure chance or the drivers

i know it works fine for xp at the moment i think that os is the most stable for cf. but the thing is what in vista is causing the problem. a conflicting file or application? any ideas?

for me every time i go to beta clan server and just before i join a game it just says "disconnect from server"
so know i just quit my clan [U]leashed and just play in alpha or delta servers

no i use windows XP and crossfire crashes sometimes but on the laptop of my brother it works great and he use 2 Windows Xp i yust think ist a bug and i hope its sonly patched

On your desktop right click crossfire and proprties, go to comptability and run it as a lower one. But CF works perfect on Windows7 now.
