95.6% IV 178 cp magikarp Evolve? or no?

Hey im lvl 25 and have 400 magikarp candies.

My best magikarp has a %95.6 IV and 178 cp.

Should i evolve this? i doubt i can get a better one.. however i dont know alot about pokemongo.

I have heard of people evolving really low cp magikarps like around 100 and getting a 1500+ cp gyarados.

so what should i do? wait for a better magikarp? or just evolve this one. thanks


also? will my lvl effect how the evolution goes? for example, if i were to wait till lvl 30 to evolve it, would i get a higher cp gyarados?

hmm you should just wait and see if you can catch a higher cp and if you get somewhat the same results i guess go for it. You can always catch a gyarados near rivers , beaches , and lakes.

Get a 100 IV then evolve it.

Gyarados base CP after ANY evolve is 1400. The better the magikarp, the higher the CP cap.
Take this into consideration.

I caught a 197 magikarp and evolved into 2300 gyrados

CP means nothing compared to IV's you're magikarp is 95% perfect, I would definitely evolve it, the chances of getting a Perfect 100% IV are well, very slim, but I can say I've gotten one myself as well as a 100% Dratini, but still....
