    Bitcoin help.

    Hey scrubs,

I just got into using bitcoins and I am using the bitcoin Knots client. I opened it up and it started synchronising. I had no clue what it was but I assumed it was needed. I went from 6 years to 1 year in around 12 hours...now it's taking forever and it filled up my SSD without even realising. This is ridiculous. It takes up so much space, is there no other way of using bitcoins? Someone help plox!

The "blocks" I think they were called were filling that up then stopped at around 1 year 3 weeks or so because I was full.

Use a web client or a modern client that doesn't use up much disk space, like normal people.

    I use coinbase. It's great

I am not a middleman nor do I buy/sell anything. If you are being contacted by someone off-site from MPGH then it's not me! Please report these to me via PM. Don't be stupid, think first.

Yea but with coinbase you lose the anonymity of bitcoin, and at any point they can lock your account and steal your BTC.

I chose for coin.space in the end. Is that alright? It seems pretty neat to me. The only issue is, it doesn't let me use it inside of Tor.

I'm not trying to hide and surely all of them could just vanish and take your BTC

I have downloaded the entire blockchain, the whole file will be about 80GB. As far as I know, this is one of the best ways to keep your bitcoins safe, the safest being a paper wallet of course. Many people get turned off by the fact that they have to download so much stuff and store in their computer, so they turn to mobile apps, web wallets like coinbase, blockchain.info etc. There's one drawback tho, security.

If you're not storing large amounts of coins (>10 BTC), i guess you could use the conventional web wallets or mobile wallets. it's just so much more convenient!
