Say there are people asking for cybersecks. some people give it to them with a decent helping of troll. There is no way to prosecute these. No reason to try, too many to tackle.
However, there are real criminals, very prosecutable, in their own city. Those they can go after.

Well, one's enough to cause a prosecuting nightmare. It would take months for a warrant. Maybe years, in a city with serious crimes to deal with, like NYC.

If they're determined to catch you, they might be able to. But it takes a long time, and a lot of tracing, lol.

Also, depends if the proxy servers are willing to give up logs. Generally they don't though.

Shady proxies ftw! try tracking those down, cops! But most chat rooms block the whole providers of that pre-fab proxy software that's everywhere now.
