How do I make sure that my PD2 Hacking account won't affect the legit one.

I would like to try cheating in Payday 2 to have some fun with it, but would like to make sure that no hacks will change anything in my main account on Steam (I made a second). I have thought of making a VM to use or partitioning my drive so that I can have another Steam Library that I can then install another PD2 on and put cheats there.

Are there any other ways you can think of?

If you remove the hacks then nothing will happen to your other steam account pretty sure. It doesn't share data over steam accounts pre-sure

Its 2 diffrent save paths so as long as you remove the dll file and the mods folder you'll be fine
