"Steam was Unable to Sync. your Files for CoD:MW2 with the Steam Cloud"

When I open up Modern Warfare 2, I get the following Error Message: "Steam was Unable to Sync. your Files for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 with the Steam Cloud".

This afternoon I was able to play like always, and while I was In-Game MW2 suddenly shutted down... So I restarted Steam and MW2, but then I got this message.

Does anyone know what I can do about this? Because I haven't experienced this before...

PS: When I click 'Play Game' it just opens MW2, but when I click on Play it says: ''You need to be signed in on steam...''

Have you tried restarting steam?

This appears when you are not logged into steam (ex. Steam couldn't connect to servers).

Also, we have a help section for a reason. Post there next time.

Also what's the random red underline of words while you are posting?

1) I have restarted Steam already a few times...
2) I am logged in on Steam (also re-logged a few times)

just wait another 1-2 hours

restart steam/sign in and out again or restart pc

Just wait, It happens if you played on another computer and it had not time to sync / it had no time to sync as your game closed and your PC / internet Crashed, Or it happens when Steam Servers Suck.

Just don't care about it, Press play and it will sync your files on close, You may lose the progress you made this evening if you aren't lucky, But it's just a game.

This happens to me every so often when mw2 crashes out, like it has been said before:

restart steam
resign in
reboot pc

this happened to me earlier and none of the above worked... Just took a break and got some munchies (about 1/2 hour to an hour) and when I tried afterwards it worked fine... Random Steam Suckage.

And like you said I only lost the progress I made last evening... But I'm Level 70 and not going for Prestige so that's not a big deal
