    Safe to turn on?

Safe to turn on a surface pro from Microsoft?
Can they detect me turning it on without being connected to the Internet?

What if I had the item and planning to refund it. Can they tell if I turned it on when I have received it?

Refund it first before turning it on. I know that is what is told by Apple refunders so I assume there's a way to tell when a device is activated, and if Apple does it I don't see why Microsoft wouldn't. Better to be safe than sorry, you've lived your whole life without that Surface Pro, you can go another 1-2 weeks while your refund is processing.

Wait until refund confirmation that's what I've been telling my customers and I'm in the process of doing like 2 or 3 surface pros.
