I ended up buying a 120-150K account from his shop and it worked. I received a 120k point account, and used 2 $50 certificates along with a $15 certificate.

Employees did not ask for any ID, but they did ask for my phone number. Instead of giving my phone number, I logged in the account on the Gamestop app and showed the membership card from there. I was afraid something would happen, but fortunately no suspicions from two different stores.

I also noticed that when I tried logging in the account when I got home, it either got banned or password got changed so that scared me a bit lol.

Lots of misinformation in this thread. Gamestop never ID'd, and if your area did very easy fix, change the name in account info to your name. All you need to use these is a power up account, just use the one already in the account, you can even change the number so you'll remember it easier.

I actually did try to change the name and phone number, but they didn't update fast enough when I went to the store. The receipt still showed the original name on the account, and I tried giving them an updated phone number, but they said that it didn't exist.

You have to enter the birthday of the account holder to change any info. I always just log in on the app and have them scan the rewards card from there. Never been asked for ID even on accounts with female names.
