I read chinese fantasy novels but they don't make you think or broden your vocabulary, so my new goal is read a book every month outside of fantasy novels. So do you have any suggestions? Doesn't matter what it's about.

go read either "Faust" by Goethe or "Sandmann" by Hoffmann (idk if theres an english version though)

both are really nice but take time to read as theyre heavy in the way theyre written but a must read imo if youre into higher writing

the second volume is not as good as the first one, as its just a follow up and the first volume is a closed story in itself

You shouldn't read a new book based on broadening your vocabulary. Read a book because it makes you forget your surroundings, and makes you enter a world of excitement, or total horror, depending on what you're reading. Do it for the enjoyement.

/r/books would be a pretty good place to ask for advice. My advice would be the Count of Monte Cristo, written by Alexandre Dumas.

The Black Tulip by Alexandre Dumas, it's a little shit because there are romantic parts and I ain't for romantic shit, I'm more into SF and mystery books but still a pretty good book.

Yeah I read chinese fantasy novels for that, but I still want to read higher level books that will make you think. So I am doing both things; I will also look into your suggestion.
