Learning how to code effectively.
Is codeacademy a very good place to learn?

Download snips and try to understand their coding logic, the fastest way out there.
You have to understand what, what does and not just learning the code by heart this is the biggest mistake you can do... Watch good Tutorials who talk about that and explain why and what it does. Also i would recommend you to buy a book. I never read books and i hate it but programming books are different its not a big deal to read it before sleeping but it burns in brain. beside that i think udemy is not that bad (e-learning platform) but in most cases if you really want to know how to program and what the code does behind start with C then C++ and so on. Ofcourse you can start with that what you want but its recommeded because if you've done C and C++ you know what Pointer and that shit is and whats the code doing in other programming language in the background.

They offer a wide range of courses and short training projects for free. I'm not sure if they still do this, but you used to get badges on your profile for every course you completed, which is a nice way to compete with friends or track your progress.
Ah we-a blaze the fyah, make it bun dem!
There are a high quality premium tutorials available as well. For example lynda tutorials. Anyway you will always learn something new from those tutorials.
I grabbed an interesting C# project several years ago (I had zero knowledge of .NET coding at that time). That's the way I learned.
Also ask this question from yourself, do you have the time and patience it takes? It's more or less 12/7/365 coding if you want to be a good coder.
I Learned from pluralsight
you can get 3 months of trial with vs programmer site
Watch youtube vids and try small projects for yourself... if you have problem just use google... you will need a lot of practise
Well the best way to learn programming is just by diving into it. Learn by viewing the basics on youtube and then just start challenging yourself by making more and more advanced code. I made all my homework into a progamming challenge and now i work as a C# developer
There are some decent c# videos for free on edx.org. Lots of reading stackoverflow.
You can look for udemy or lynda courses. For me personally watching videos and doing the practice tests (attached course files) are best way, rather than learning from any books.
Honestly, the best way is to just make things. Anything works. See something you like using? Recreate it.
