    Fitness Tracker

    I'm a competitive swimmer, and I've only just started taking shit seriously recently. I've been inspired by those fitness bloggers to track my workouts and take notes of things I've learned so I can look back and see what will help me improve and how much I've improved. I'm going to use MPGH for this because why not. Hopefully I can bring myself to update this weekly.

    Hardest Set This Week:
    4x400 meters freestyle all out on the 8 minutes. Fastest was 5:19 (I didn't kick).

    Weekly goal(s):
    Bring myself to kick more when swimming freestyle.

    What I've Learned This Week:
    There is a difference between strength and fitness.
    Exercise outside of regular practices is unnecessary because practice is designed to push you to your very limit, and doing exercise outside of practice will make you tired and perform worse during practice.
    Being fit for swimming doesn't mean you are fit for running. If you want to be fit for something, you're going to have to train in that. Not something else.

    Notes:
    For the longest time, 95% of my freestyle speed relied on my pull. I have only been doing a 1-3 beat kick. I'm going to try to bring my kick back.

    Hardest Set This Week:
    2 Rounds of: 4x15 meters Sprints (odds freestyle, evens backstroke) on the 30 seconds, 3x200 meter IM (replace fly with dolphin-breast) on the 3:20

    Weekly goal(s):
    Completely break my habit of not kicking for freestyle (this will take a while).

    What I've Learned This Week:
    Swimming is all about your mindset.
    You don't have to feel good to swim fast.
    Different sports have different mindsets.

    Notes:
    Somethings wrong with my breastroke, my kick feels uneven. Right leg get's a lot more tired than left leg.

    5 Rounds of 3x150's. Odd rounds first 100 is build, last 50 is all out kick; Interval 3:20. Even rounds broken up into 3x50's, all out on 10 seconds rest; Interval 4:00.

    Weekly goal(s):
    Completely break my habit of not kicking for freestyle (this will take a while).

    What I've Learned This Week:
    Different swim teams have different positives and negatives.
    Take advantage of all the positives that you can.
    Don't let other people on the team drag you down.

    Notes:
    Wtf I'm losing weight.

    2 rounds of: 7x100's freestyle on the 1:25 (goal time for each 1:17). 7x50's butterfly sprint on the 1:00.
    After the two rounds, do one more round of 7x100's freestyle on the 1:35 all out.

    Weekly goal(s):
    Bring myself to kick more when swimming freestyle.

    What I've Learned This Week:
    There are short term motivations and long term motivations.
    You should always have more than one motivation, so you are able to keep going even if one of your motivations no longer motivates you.

    Notes:
    My lats hurt when I swim a lot of freestyle.

    Believe you can win.
    Don't let your competition faze you.

    Notes:
    You can torture (tickle) people who have large lats by rolling their lats out!

    Gotta be positive to your teammates.

    Drama is bad. kek

    Kind of inspired by you doing this.. Fuck it, I might as well follow along. Why not keep a log of my lifestyle to see what changes? I've only got this one life (haha even then I shouldn't be alive), so I should make the most of it.
