Unlocking a Phone

Hey there, so recently someone gave me a Tracfone IPhone SE. It's a great device, however I go through AT&T for service as is. I've browsed the internet for a bit and found that they can be unlocked, however there are general terms (including having the service for 12 months). I've also managed to locate a few sites that claim they can perform such a service, but I'm unsure if their legitimate or not.

Does anyone have experience unlocking these phones? I'd really like to avoid buying another one just to have it go through my preferred carrier.

I had locked Samsung S8 i searched on google and paid around $25 and i got my unlock code in like 24 hours and it worked!
