This is illegal, I'm sure it is. I want to put a song in with my applacation. Although is there anyway to do this legally without having them buy the song. Or asking permission. And is it illegal for the user or me.

To legally do it, you'd probably have to pay royalties to a performance rights organization like BMI. You pretty much pay them a certain amount of money to use the songs from the artist they represent. It can be really pricey, so you're better off just doing it illegally <_<

If they caught you, it'd all get blamed on you. The user of the program has no idea the music was obtained illegally. They expect you to have a contract giving you the rights to use it. Unless you tell them the music is illegal, it's not their responsibility.

cut the song down, so it isn't the full thing. iunno how much you have to cut it down by, but copywrite laws don't apply after a certain percent has been cut.

Depends on the country, America has Fair Use policy, which might cover your request.
