How to use USB Xtaf Xplorer

Before I begin, I want to say thanks to blood_king for this find.



Now, the usb xtaf xplorer is attached. If you don't trust me, here's a virus scan.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN, you must have already gotten a USB drive, configured it on the 360, and have an account on it. If you've already done that, continue on.


1.) Plug in your USB drive.
2.) Open up XTAF xplorer.


3.) Go File and click "Open Device" . You should see this:


4.) Now all the folders are different inside of that. You'll see folders like:

(I had to blur two folders. Both were my Gamertag ID's.

Now, in those folders, (other than the 00000000000000 folder) is your gamertag's profile/game addons/gamesaves.
I'll just show you how to extract your profile to open in Profile Editor or something.


5.) open up your gamertag's folder. Inside you may see many folders, or you may see very little. Depends on how much crap you got on it.
Find the folder similar to this one:


Double-click that one and open it up. Inside of it you'll see a folder named something like "00010000". Open that.

You should see your gamertag there with the same name as the first folder we opened.


Click it once, then click extract and choose where to put it.
Do whatever you want with it now.

How do I setup Xtaf Xplorer.

Download the attachment and use as instructed. There's no setup for it, just extract and run it. Make sure you have .NET framework 2 or it won't work.

To configure a USB, you must use your console. Plug it in, go into settings > memory, select your device and configure it.

When I try to open the device I receive an error screen saying something about and unhandled error. I've properly configured it, and have my profile on the flash drive. Please help me.

Also, this is off topic, but could someone link me to a tut on how to put dlc on the flash drive using xtaf and use it on xbox please. Thanks for your help.

Try downloading the latest .NET Framework. Sometimes these programs don't work that well on x64 computers.

There is no way to copy someone's DLC and use it on your xbox. Everything bought off XBL has licenses given out to the user who bought the item. You don't own the license to it, so you cannot use it.

Ok thank you, I'll try that.

But what I was asking was the tutorial for transferring DLC onto xtaf and your flash drive. Like downloading it from somewhere then putting it on your flash drive using xtaf, then plug it in your xbox and move it to your HDD, and play. Is there a tutorial for that?
