how to exe in jpg ??

I recently saw something interesting. I saw the exe file in jpg, but I am curious. How could I generate malware with jpg instead of extension jpg.exe? I'm curious too

I would also be interested in this, I'm not sure if it is possible though I feel like at least in windows extensions can be hidden by default which makes it easier... Not that I condone this I promise, malware=bad

The again... I have gotten emails with PDF files that are marked as PDF but try to run an installer when clicked. So I am not sure about this.
