Is this still relevant to get. I’m looking at upgrading my GPU from a 1060, should I make the jump to a 20xx or will a 1080ti be just fine.

honestly the value in the 20 series isn't that great. I don't also see that much use with ray-tracing and the dlss performance gains are minuscule. I heard the 10 series are going to continue decreasing some time to get rid of their excess stock but I dunno.

You're best off sticking with a 1080 ti. (or if you're interested, wait for amd navi)

gtx 1080ti rivals a 2080 and can be found for under 600 on ebay. I'll be upgrading to a 1080ti when i have the money

i got a 1080ti used for 350 bucks... only way a rtx card makes any sense what so ever right now is if you want the slightly enhanced NVENC encoding for streaming, and honestly if you cant afford a 2080ti you can probably afford a dual pc set up and forgo NVENC all together

i guess the card has been a mining one, but for that price i wouldnt mind as it is a killer deal

meanwhile i sold my old 1070 for 300€ so almost the USD price of your 1080ti

what do you do? what do you play?
if you game not that much or you're not some serious gamer, 1060 is fine..
for graphics, 1050ti works really great..

you can hackintosh it if you want and 1050ti will beat your macbook pro

have you checked rtx ? it is incredible and i would say that you should check on rtx 2080-2080ti these cards are a monster

You don't need lots of power to use Ray tracing with 30 FPS, you need proper components that can sufficiently provide you the fps you need.

1080tis are still relevant! At current prices 1080tis have better performance per dollars when compared to something like a 2080. I would say get a 1080ti at like $500~ unless you can get a new 2080 for like mid $600~
