Yeah, I played the entire story + DLC a lot of times (because I didn't have much else to do other than Borderlands.)
Although I stated online was a struggle not the game itself.

good marketing move to revive a dead game

How is the game?

The game is incredibly easy to pick up imo and after a few main sequences you can enjoy the story with tier 3 gear
almost without having to do any side work. The side work comes if you think you need a serious upgrade.
