Learning to code?

Been struggling with learning how to code for a bit. Have been trying to learn for a while because I think its cool to code but I just can't build the habit. My current schedule has been to try to learn Java for a few hours every 2 days but I have an issue with doing something (even stuff I really enjoy) for a long time.
I also want to hear other's stories about their time they discovered coding and shit.

The way I started is learning how to code for a project I want to do, so example is learning to game design with unity. But because i went straight to coding in that game engine, a lot of the fundamental was missing but it got me more experience in coding. So, when I took a Comp. sci. class it help understood stuff better which then help me learn more about the fundamentals of programming (because of that classes). And from there you keep doing projects to build your understanding

Learning a new programming language takes time and may be boring but don't get discouraged. Make a list of obtainable goals that you wish to achieve within a month and stick to them. Having a plan and structure is key to programming. Plot -> Plan -> Execute. When I first started learning the fundamentals of OOP (Object Oriented Programming) in school, we started by creating a calculator which we than used to create a basic basketball game (a shot counter with mouse input). Think outside the box and use your imagination.

The internet is a wonderful place with online courses, free website tutorials and youtube. Find what you want to learn and explore. I have found w3schools to be quite good at basic stuff and have templates for you to try yourself it's free too.

Go on YouTube, search up some coding tutorials and just learn yourself. That’s what I did. Try Udemy.
