Why do gamers buy expensive keyboards?

I can tell you why I used to buy expensive keyboards. For me, it was macro keys- I typically had a keyboard with from 12–18 macro keys on the left, which I had set up so I could trigger any ability on any of my WoW characters using just my left hand. Honestly, without that, I would not have been as good a player.

Other than that, some of the higher-end mechanical keyboards have a nice feel. Once you get used to one, it’s hard to go back to a $10 Dell keyboard. They also tend to have very high durability, and other friendly to have features like RGB backlighting and even custom keys.

I like the rgb, I reckon it justifies the $200 or whatever keyboard

For the slick design and mecha caps. I love the clicky sound they make <3.<3
There are some good brands and some awful brands in the gaming keyboard scene.
Just stay away from razer as far as possible UwU

I personally always skimp out on expensive gaming stuff but buying quality keyboards and mice genuinely does make a difference in not just performance but comfort. Also more expensive is usually more reliable so they'll break less often. Lots of people also like customizing their mechanical keyboards.

I use a good quality microsoft set, but it's honestly not that good with combos. It's great for typing, but when playing a game where I have to quickly do a 7-click combo in less than 2 seconds, some of my clicks don't register. I imagine a gaming keyboard would not do that, as well as faster keystroke travelling times.
