Unless you've ever a played an actual instrument before you probably wont get it without a tutor.

For me guitar is easy because, paying violin I'm used to shifting (really) fast down and up a finger board, and simllar techniques are used, I could transfer my violin vibrato to a guitar vibrato (don't know what guitarist call it). And not only that but it's good to have a ear for notes, to be able to hear a sound and tell what note it is can help you wing it on any instrument, or help you get a good foundation by being able to tell if you're in or out of tune.

ive played one of those fucking recorders in like 5th grade and a violin....little bit of drums and ive watched my dad play forever but hes in bad shape and cant teach me.

and piano ( for about 2 1/1 years self-taught, no tutorials, no teacher, no sheet music )

He's been playing for 2 1/2 years too and played piano for a couple of months ironically.
