basically to sum that up, reinstall or get a new computer.
and you forgot to add delete system dump files and hibernation files

your right... but i dont think that reduces enough lag to count as a fix.. if you dont take care of your system, then after a really long that would be pretty helpful.. but most people reformat before they think of that LOL

I would also like to add, if you have another harddrive, or partition, set up pagefile with it too. Helps spread the load, and also look up Bootvis, and Ntregopt. Both for xp, Ntregopt works on winV and win7 as well.
