Those aren't communist values, those are socialist values and progressives have been fighting for those things for a while now. They similar concepts but not one and the same.

Define what socialist is. I don't understand your distinciton. Communism is the movement that spawned socialism and socialism is supposed to be a transionary stage. So what do you mean by "socialist" values?

The way I think of it is, communism is a form of socialism. In a sense, communism is like the more "extreme brother" of socialism you could say. Socialism is the idea of redistribution of wealth, allowing individuals to maintain private property but at the same time, pooling our resources to give to those who need it. Communism is about what is yours, is also mine and the idea of private property is just gone. There is no distinction of what belongs to who if that makes sense.
