Hello,
yesterday my ****** repo got taken down and I am here to ask what is the best thing to do and if something like this happened to someone here.
I was the first guy who made private server for game called Growtopia (link here https://******.com/GrowtopiaNoobs/GrowtopiaServer). It is low quality code as I written it really fast and it also was first private server for this game, but there still isn't any better private server for this game. It was up for like two years and Ubisoft hasn't taken any action till now. I mainly care about this repo, because it got a lot of issues in it and also it is most popular place in Growtopia private server development community (it got over 100 forks). Luckily people made forks few days before it got taken down, so all code is safe maybe except two PRs.
I was thinking about submitting DMCA counter notice, but then I saw this on ****** website:
So, I am not really sure if this is the way to go as I think that it is possible to obtain some of my personal informations by some ways and I don't want to risk any issues. But I think if I have done that, then I could succeed as the code contains just few strings that I was able to get from client binary as I couldn't get real code because that game is written in C++. But there is also option that this DMCA was issued by some troll as they appear kinda often in this server community, but I haven't heard that anyone admitted to it.Investigate. Submitting a DMCA counter notice can have real legal consequences. If the complaining party disagrees that their takedown notice was mistaken, they might decide to file a lawsuit against you to keep the content disabled. You should conduct a thorough investigation into the allegations made in the takedown notice and probably talk to a lawyer before submitting a counter notice.
I also looked how many DMCA claims had Ubisoft issued (link here https://******.com/******/dmca/searc...oped_q=ubisoft) and there are just four, including mine. So it seems I am kinda "lucky", but it might also mean that it was some troll. Which leads me into question, does ****** verify the person who publish those claims or can just mostly anyone submit them?
I will be really thankful for any help or ideas about what can I do.

Damn, that's crazy, I'm always worried about making repository's public. I got a DMCA from Match Group inc. for scraping Tinder and posting the dataset on Kaggle.
