There's clearly a strategy behind Epic Game's free games thing. Is it to increase their user base? Perhaps. Who knows, cuz I don't. We can only speculate.

I have not seen a company that has given away something for free, all you really had to do is download their client, which I think, for the shit people give towards Epic Games for the lack of content Epic client is missing, does bring a lot of users to their platform, more so when the most popular game of their fortnite is on that as well. Epic free game catch only is to get their client, that's really it, I do really wish Steam/Origin/uplay did this as well.

I remember vaguely Origin sometimes gave away a game or two no? On the House I think they called it. Usually games they owned 100% like the Sims or Simcity.

Also I expect NOTHING free from Steam lol. There are sometimes free Steam games on there but I'm sure it's usually the Dev team behind that game that chooses to give it for free for a while? Not sure but it happens and of course, always small titles nothing comparable to what Epic offers lol!

I really don't know how the "free" offer works, but most often if at all, the decision made by the publisher, most the titles that are given to players of Epic Games launcher are indie or triple A games, one of the most noticeable is the Batman Arkham Series, they're about to give away another triple A game which is Hitman series (the 3rd time rebooted ones), the 1st release. I love Epic games launcher, even if there is lack of features like Achievements, and forums and stuff like that, people are already bitching on Shitbook about Hitman 3 being Epic Games exclusive for time being, I do not know where the fuck do people from Shitbook find the energy to complain the day in and out...
