I think I would use 350 of that amount on some games I wanted to get. The 50 bucks would be spent on Monster energy I guess.

If I had 400 dollars I would use it as down payment on a small loan and start a microscale eCommerce business. Loan downpayment of 20 percent (high end assuming good credit score) that's 2,000 USD. Seek out a chinese distributer who specializes in lower volume sales who will accept payments as low as 2000. Measuring the United States economy (2.9%) growth I estimate my profits will be at least higher than the current GDP. That's a whole 59 dollar profit guarantee assuming I sold all the products the same day and make back my difference which will put the numbers at 100 products a day per estimate. While that may not seem much 2.9% (GDP) but let's remember I am selling on the main markets. Different markets generate different results. If I could find a market with a 200 percent markup (ie changing the key words or selecting a demographic from facebook ads). I would up my profits from 59 dollars to nearly 4000 profit - 2,000 loan making my 400 dollars into effectively 1,600 USD per day assuming I sold the stock quickly and effectively (proper data management tools).
In theory if the mathematics were linear and all rates stayed the same (they're basically never linear in the way i am about to describe them). Per month I would make 48,000 USD.
time frame 1 month
400 USD > 48,000 USD
However a more reasonable estimate would be I do not sell more than half my products, that would still be 24,000 USD per month. That's from 3,000 sales from 30 different products. This is reasonable for an average human to handle without help as I know people who sell millions on just a few dozen employees. However real life doesn't work so perfect in theory when you account for all the fraud and unethical practices taking place. 1 dollar products break easy and lots of people will get mad. According to "E-commerce Product Return Rate – Statistics and Trends [Infographic]" roughly 30 percent of products bought online are returned. That 24,000 just went down to 14,000 per month.
400 > 14,000 USD per month.
168k a year
current tax bracket for that rate is 32%. -53,760 off your paycheck. still 115k a year based off 400USD starting point.
Mistake here. Obiviously America runs on a progressive system and the 168k wouldn't all be taxed at 32% but by even lower amounts
I'm pretty confident on this number as a 'general estimate' on what I could do with 400 dollars because despite what people might say "Good luck selling at a 200% in today's market", we now have data systems in place that are would mathematically guarantee the outcome via the use of many data trends. I can go on a rant for a few dozen hours about the US patent system but basically it's this: shits kinda been figured out long time ago but reasons reasons mumbo jumbo
and that is my summary of what i'll do with 400 dollars thank you.
