Is MPGH constantly a target for hackers ?

I've been checking my old breached accounts using a website like haveibeenpwnd and scylla.sh

I just found that there's one of my passwords from a couple of weeks ago that was used on another MPGH account of mine, that i asked to be purged.

Is MPGH constantly being datamined / pentested, i know there was a massive password leak from MPGH a couple of years ago.

And are those the reason of MPGH multiple times going offline for a few minutes, and then recovering ?

I also see that MPGH forces you to change password every 90 days, so is that another measure against that ?

from an outside point of view, it really seems like this site is a big deal for hackers.

Well, people who are fearful of being hacked use products like Dashlane, and such things-- what it does is log your password behind a master password (something only you remember)-- it even has an unique feature that generates passwords, depending on an option that you choose, which means randomly generated password (close what YouTube does with generating links), with things like dashes and stuff like that included within the password, Dashlane is something I heavily suggest to get, it's free.

MPGH going down few minutes can have multiple reasons than just being DDOSED, like servers being poopy, and among of other things.

Thank you for the tip, but my question wasn't how to get my account secure, it was about MPGH being a target.

Don't worry, i don't use dashlane, neither last pass, i use my own cloud and KeePass synced between my PC's and my phone, and my old password that was leaked was an old 32 randomized character password anyway.

Anyhow, thanks for all the answers arun and dave, i guess it makes sense for this forum using vbulletin, have you guys considered moving to newer forums like Xenforo ?, im not saying it should or shouldn't, im asking if you guys even thought of doing so ?

Like Nani also said, it's not the only reason, but it happens. Websites do occasionly go down for x amount of time because of DDoS.. but, also just because of servers going oof and other problems.

Probably already infiltrated the ranks. Hey man, thats how the FBI does most of their shit, social engineering.

Realistically, servers are constantly being attacked, mostly by automated systems. Like literally, start a server on digitalocean and make it vulnerable (ie, install an old linux distro or use a shitty ssh password) and give it a week. Some automated attack will have been performed and your server is being used to send out spam, phishing attacks or as a bot in a network.

A cool experiment if you're interested also is to install a honeypot on a publicly accessible linux server, you'll see just how common it is (also you can catch some zero-day malware as well.)

This state currently is super fine !
Before like 3 months ago, MPGH was always offline ! like each day you get either Slow website or Offline server.

But currently its super fine and the IM Chat works good.

Imagine the possibilities when the source code for your site is commonly available. Now imagine running this system running on PHP. Now imagine 20 or so years of being online. Now imagine all the security vulnerabilities that were around during that time relating to vBulletin, related plugins, PHP, nginx, litespeed.
