Running AE's Guardian-Only Game "ArchKnight" on +=Marvin=+'s AdventureQuest Trainer

So, who remembers ArchKnight? Artix Entertainment's one-time venture into the "walk-around RPG" archetype that plays like a fusion of AdventureQuest Classic and AdventureQuest Worlds?

After the death of Flash, I found out that it is not possible to play the game properly on your web browser because of two of the following reasons:

    1. The game does not have any way of being played offline, therefore there is no singular .swf file that can be located and downloaded to play the game on a local flash projector.

    2. The way the game saves your progress is a bit convoluted and therefore fails to execute in time-manipulated instances of web browsers. Since you are running this game with the help of your verified Guardian Account, the game fails to locate your account during the Save Game option in Yulgar's Inn. This has been tested by setting the PC's internal Date/Time to January 1st, 2020.

Recently I re-discovered this ancient relic of a game while goofing around on the BattleOn website, and I wanted to share this method of running the game semi-locally on an AdventureQuest Trainer so that you can play the game with its Save and Load feature restored.

[Step 1: Getting +=Marvin=+'s AdventureQuest Trainer]

The best and easiest way to acquire this trainer is to search "SoulSaber AQ Trainer" on either Google or YouTube, then downloading the trainer from the first result and following the instructions provided in the video to extract it, or troubleshoot it back to running condition by getting the necessary components.

[Step 2: Getting Flash to work after its EoL (End-of-Life)]

Simply follow either of the two methods mentioned in this thread to avoid the issue of Adobe Flash dying upon the start of the trainer: https://www.mpgh.net/forum/showthread.php?t=1526474

Keep in mind that Flash functionality was terminated on the date '12 Jan 2021' and as such, any date before that will make Flash run properly once again. I personally like to input '1 Jan 2021' in all of the instances of AE games.

[Step 3: Setting up the Trainer to run ArchKnight]

Any time you run the trainer, a prompt will first pop up asking you to set up the flash variables to run AdventureQuest on the latest version. However, we are not running AdventureQuest here but rather ArchKnight. In order to change the game the trainer is going to load, we would want to first enable the option of "Edit Strings" and press OK on the warning that appears, then set up the strings as follows:

    Code:
    Base: https://www.archknigh*****m/build2/login.asp
    Movie: https://www.archknigh*****m/build2/ArchKnight.swf?strUserName=####&strPassword=%%%%&strGametype=web

(Replace #### with your Guardian-Verified Battleon Username and %%%% with its Login Password.
Please note that only one of your characters linked to this account is required to be a Guardian in order for the game to acknowledge your account)

Flash Vars: (Clear out this entire field so that it is entirely blank)
Once you are done, your fields should look something like this:

Click on "Play Game" on your pop-up menu and the game should start loading.

Simply press the red 'X' on the "Checking Login Slots" window that appears to close it, and you're set to play the game on your PC without needing a web browser!

    [Footnotes]

In order to first gain access to the Save and Load feature, you will need to advance the story up to the point where you first arrive in Battleon and get to meet Yulgar. From that point on, simply go to the Inn and talk to Aria to save and load your game progress. In my opinion, Artix Entertainment should have made this game playable on their AE Game Launcher since it is quite a lengthy game and it is also pretty fun to go through its story. This game is the epitome of a time capsule that you can look back on and notice that back in the good old days of Artix Entertainment, it was only four guys and their fans working on what seems like projects they had put their entire heart's love and passion into. This was their entire world; A microcosm of internet and video game culture, back when the company wasn't hungry for cash and pumping out garbage content each month for AdventureQuest Worlds...
